Welcome to Quilting on the Crow, a longarm quilting studio located in Paynesville, MN
Press your quilt top so that it lays as flat as possible
Trim any loose threads
Inspect the quilt top for any loose seams and repair them
If your quilt top has a specific direction, mark the top with a safety pin
Your quilt BACKING must be 3-4 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides. Example: if your quilt top is 50 x 60 the quilt backing must be at least 56 x 66.
Press the quilt back so any seams are open if possible.
Piecing your backing makes for a fun back. I cannot guarantee that a pieced back will be centered or square with the quilt top once it it quilted due to the uptake of batting and backing with the stitching
Do not layer your quilt top, batting , quilt backing or baste them together. That is done on the longarm.
Thank you for entrusting me with your quilt. It is very much appreciated.
