Welcome to Quilting on the Crow, a longarm quilting studio located in Paynesville, MN
Pieced by Vicki Smith Nelson. Quilted with the West Wind quilt pattern
Press your quilt top so that it lays as flat as possible
Trim any loose threads
Inspect the quilt for any loose seams and repair them
If your top has a specific direction, mark the top with a safety pin
Your quilt BACKING must be 3-4 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides. Example: if your quilt is 50 X 60 your quilt back must be at least 56 X 66
Press the quilt back with any seams open so that the backing lies flatter once it is quilted. This may not be possible with Minke fabrics.
Piecing your quilt backing makes for a fun back. I cannot guarantee that it will be centered or square with the top once it is quilted due to the uptake of the batting and backing with the stitches.
Do not layer your quilt top, batting, backing or baste them together. That will be done on the longarm.
Thank you for entrusting your pieced quilt to me.
